Remember the sleeves in progress?

Blackstone Tweed Sleeves
They’ve come together with the fronts, back and collar to turn into a whole sweater.

Cabled Blackstone Cardi
The pattern is from Interweave Knits, where it’s called the Curry Cabled Cardigan. The yarn is Berroco’s Blackstone Tweed, a blend of wool, mohair, and a touch of angora. It’s very soft and fluffy, lovely to work with.
It’s knit in pieces, so they need to be sewn together. I use mattress stitch whenever possible-

Mattress stitch
One of the crucial points of doing mattress stitch is illustrated here- always go under two bars of the edge stitches. The blue needle is double pointed needle that I use to hold the edges together. I find it’s easier to handle than pins.
Have something to sew? We’ll be having a “sew it together workshop/blitz” on Sunday October 25. Lots of table space and moral support to do that last bit of sewing, or maybe you have an afghan that needs an edge.
Advice will be available, see the class list for more details.
