Cost: $65
We are excited to welcome Toby Roxane to Close Knit.
Toby is an indie knitwear designer on the cutting edge of fashion and design. She studied writing and art at Sarah Lawrence College and knitwear design at the London College of Fashion. Her wearable, flattering pieces are available in a wide range of sizes and are fun to make.
Join us in the morning for a Meet and Greet, and see her new collection of hand dyed yarns available for purchase. For a more hands-on event, come in the afternoon as Toby leads us through her "Unusual Stitches" class. The lace and texture patterns in her work require a little bit of know-how but once you master a few simple skills, you'll be well on your way to knitting some of her more challenging patterns, such as the Cicada and Queen of Pentaclesshawls. Check out the rest of her works here.
For those joining us for both sessions, lunch will be included in between events.

Double Knitting is a cool technique that allows you to produce a double layer of Stockinette Stitch fabric with the knit side showing on both sides. The magic happens when you add colorwork, because double knitting creates a mirror image of the colors on each side. It's reversible knitting that gives you a doubly thick fabric - perfect for potholders or extra cozy cowls and scarves.
Materials: 2 contrasting colors of Worsted Weight yarn. One skein of each color will make multiple potholders.
US 7 Needle - Circular or Straight
Homework: With both colors held together, cast on 31sts. Pattern can be found here:
