New space, new yarn, new blog!

Close Knit is now ensconsed in Wyckoff. It’s a wonderful bright space, and there is a parking lot. It’s much more convenient than the on street parking at the old location.

The blog is about our projects, in progress and done.

It’s also a place to share customer’s creations and get ideas for new things to do with yarn.

And it’s going to be the home of a KAL- Knit a long with Kim and Phyllis as we make the Swirl Shawl (or maybe scarf, we’ll see)

Here’s Kims’ in progress-

Kim's Swirl Shawl

Each swirl section is about four inches across. They are knit one at a time, cast on 60 stitches on double pointed needles, then decrease to the center. Bind off, then pick up along and edge, and cast on more stitches for the next swirl.

Look at the color changes in the yarn. It’s Melody, from Jojoland, in great colors.

Fingering weight superwash, very soft.

We’ll have a class or two to get started, May 13 and 20, at noon.

Join us!

Great ruffles!

Kim’s already finished one scarf in the Tango. She chose one of the yarn with four colors in the stripes. She got a nice effect by using one edge of the four colors for half of the scarf, and the other edge for the other half.

Picture coming soon!
